The 2006 Syrah Barrett Vineyard from the estate’s home site in Calistoga possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a more floral juicy berry-scented nose and more rustic tannins. It appears to be made for longer aging. Not as bold or exuberant as the Napa cuvee but richer and more structured than the Santa Ynez it will benefit from another year or so of bottle age and keep for up to a decade.
